Anastacia would first make an impact in Show Business as a dancer on Club MTV. She would also appear in videos for the female rap group Salt-N-Pepa for their songs "Everybody Get Up" and "Twist and Shout". But making music was in her blood. Her father was a singer and mother a Broadway Actress in musical theatre.
In 1999, Anastacia was a finalist on the MTV talent show "The Cut" which would lead to interest from record labels. The following year she would release her CD "Not That Kind" which was a huge success in Europe. That record would wind up selling over two million copies outside the U.S. When her single "I'm Outta Love" started getting played in the clubs, her record company reworked the CD and released it in the States.
Anastacia would go on to release huge singles like "One Day In Your Life" and "Left Outside Alone". While she is a mega star around the world, she's had just minimal success in her native country.
When Anastacia was 13 years old she was disgnosed with Crohn's disease and in 2003 she would again be learn of another medical problem. After her doctor insisted that she have a mammogram during a routine checkup, she would find out that she had breast cancer. Shortly after undergoing treatment Anastacia would get to work on her third record. The self titled CD would spawn the massive international hit "Left Outside Alone".
Since hitting the music world Anastacia has won countless music awards and sold over ten million records worldwide.
