Daniel Bedingfield, a New Zealand-born singer, who was raised in London, began writing songs at age six.  While still a pre-teen, he started a group called "DNA Algorhythm" with his sisters, Natasha and Nikola.  But the big change in his life came when he was 16, he got his first synthesizer.  That would signal the start of the dance music that got Daniel his record contract.

After being turned down by a number of record companies, Bedingfield decided to record his own music, most of it in his bedroom.  He sent out his song "Gotta Get Thru This" to a few DJs and managed to get onto a compilation CD, which started the record companies, who once turned him down, to compete with each other to sign the singer.

Daniel would sign with Polydor U.K. and Island records and release the full length CD also called "Gotta Get Thru This".  It would be a hit on both sides of the Atlantic.

In 2004, Daniel, while vacationing in New Zealand would be in a
horrific car crash that would break his neck.

Daniel's sister and former bandmate Natasha is a star herself, having scored a bunch of hits in the U.K. and America.
